1439. 🇲🇺 Mauritius Commemorates International Day Of The Family.

🇲🇺 Mauritius Post issued a single stamp on 15 May 2019 to commemorate International Day Of Families. The design features what we must assume to be a standard Mauritian family of mother, father and 2 children which contrasts with a civic statue on prominent public display here in my home city of Birmingham which is described as depicting a typical Birmingham family of the present time - this statue depicts 2 women and 2 children and no man in sight. Stamp designers really must keep up with the times.

🇳🇺 The postal service of Niue will issue 4 stamps and 1 miniature sheet on 5 June 2019 to commemorate the work of locally-born artist, John Pule. This eye-catching set was designed by Hannah Fortune and lithographed by Collectables and Solutions Centre In Whanganui and perforated 13.5. Rating:- *****.

🇳🇿 New Zealand Post will issue a miniature sheet containing 3 different stamps on 11 June 2019 to note its participation in The China 2019 World Stamp Exhibition to be held at the Wuhan International Exposition Centre from 11 June to 17 June 2019. The issue was designed by New Zealand Post and lithographed by Southern Colour Print and perforated 14. Rating:- **.

The set of 8 stamps mentioned and illustrated in Blog 1424 and due to be issued on 5 June 2019 on the subject of Kupe, who is said to have been the first Polynesian to have discovered New Zealand, will be accompanied by a miniature sheet containing all 8 stamps. The issue was designed by Dave Burke and lithographed by Southern Colour Print and perforated 15.
