1432. 🇲🇹 New Maltese Issue Depicts National Bird.

🇲🇹 MaltaPost will issue a pair of stamps and a booklet containing 5 x 59c stamps (total face value €3.48c) on 9 May 2019 as its contribution to the 2019 Europa omnibus series. The subject of the issue is ‘National birds’ and the featured species is the Blue Rock Dove or Merill which was chosen to be the Maltese national bird in 1970. This attractive issue was designed from photography by Joe Sultana of Birldlife Malta and lithographed by Printex and perforated 14. Rating:- *****.

🇬🇬 Guernsey Post will issue strips of its 50th anniversary of Guernsey Old Car Club Post and Go stamps with an additional inscription applied from its desktop dispensing machine GG03 at the Messe Essen philatelic exhibition to take place from 9 to 11 May. The products are illustrated below. Rating:- 0.

🇯🇪 In Blog 1414 I mentioned and illustrated the 6 stamps and single-stamp miniature sheet issued by Jersey Post on 2 May 2019 to commemorate, rather unnecessarily me thinks, the First wedding anniversary of The Duke and Duchess Of Sussex. The second accompanying miniature sheet containing all 6 stamps is also now illustrated below. Colourful but superfluous. Rating:- 0.

🇬🇧 Royal Mail will issue one of its overpriced Generic sheets or whatever we should call them to coincide with the Stockholmia 2019 Philatelic Exhibition. The sheet is made up of 20 ‘hello’ Greetings stamps in 2 panes of 10 with attached labels. It is an expensive exhibition souvenir for collectors to buy. Rating:- 0.

🇲🇲 Myanmar Post issued a single stamp on 4 May 2019 as the fifth part of its ongoing Months of the Myanmar Calendar series. This issue features the month of Kasone with a depiction of the Bodhu tree water pouring Festival and of a Michalla Champaca flower. I am very much enjoying this series of stamps. Rating:- *****.
