The excellent Botswana Post issued a set of 4 stamps on 26 May 2016 on the subject of local traditional dance. The issue was designed by Keeme Mosinyi and lithographed by Southern Colour Print. An interesting set of local relevance designed by a talented local artist - rating:- *****.
The next issue from Botswana Post will be released in August 2016 and be on the subject of "Botswana 50 Years of Progress" which will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Indepenence. Throughout that period has been a beacon light in Africa, maintaining democracy throughout, and it's interesting that its Post Office has maintained an excellent stamp issuing programme during that period making it one of the very best countries in Africa of which to form a stamp collection.
India Post issued a set of 4 stamps and 1 miniature sheet on 5 August 2016 to commemorate India's participation in the Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro. The stamps have also been issued in various formats of sheetlets - 2 with Rs 5 values, 2 with Rs 25 values, 1 contains blocks of 4 and 1 containing strips of 4. Rating:- ***.
A sheet of 24 stamps (2 complete sets) was issued on 20 June 2016 along with the 12 stamps and 12 stamp miniature sheet which commemorated International Yoga Day. Rating:- *.
This week's offering from Stamperija takes the form of 13 sheetlets containing 4 different "stamps" and 13 accompanying "miniature sheets" on various, apparently random subjects. The name of Solomon Islands is printed on the items and most of the subjects have no conceivable relevance to the islands - they are - Lighthouses, Turtles, Tigers, Stamps featuring fauna, Water birds, Owls, Wombats, Tasmanian devils, Reef fishes, Mushrooms, Sea lions, Shells and Orchids. These items make up the second part of 12 similar "sheetlets" and "miniature sheets" described in Blog 766 issued on 13 May 2016. Rating:- 0.
