2931. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ท Nauru To Become Naoero

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ท Nauru to change its name.

The Nauruan Parliament formerly approved the change of the country’s name to Naoero on 12 May 2026 when it agreed to pass the Constitution (Amendment) (No 2) Bill 2026. Previously, Naoeroan President, David Adeang, had said, “while the name of Nauru has been recognised internationally since independence, this proposed change seeks to more faithfully honour our nation’s heritage, our language and our identity”.

Adeang explained that Naoero had been the island’s previous name but had altered with time to Nauru because foreigners could not pronounce the original name properly and was changed for convenience not by choice. Adeang stated that “Today we have the opportunity to bring our name home”. He said, “It is about dignity. It is about pride. It is about honouring those who came before us”. A national referendum will be held to confirm the parliamentary decision.

 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Guernsey Post -

26 June 2026 - Macao 2026 Specialised World Stamp Exhibition - limited edition of 3000 of a single miniature sheet containing a single valueless stamp and sold only at the exhibition. This is a new little trick by Guernsey Post whereby collectors are invited to buy miniature sheets which have no value at notable stamp exhibitions but which can then be sold on at a high price because of their rarity. Although they are attractive (the first was issued at the Boston 2026 exhibition) they are valueless (but have a cost) and of course, no postal validity.
