🇦🇺 Australia Post has revealed the latest numerous philatelic items it intends to release over the next couple of months. There are so many stamp products in the latest list that I will list them over both this and the next Blog. Sadly Australia Post has got underway with its MyStamps Shapes products sold in special packs which is an excuse to release numerous new stamps on a range of subjects mainly linked to popular culture and sport. These items will be featured in the next Blog. Needless to say they will have no place in my collection and are little better than the rubbish pouring out of Stamperija. Presumably however Australia Post has identified a potential market for the stuff.
3 March 2020 - 150th anniversary of the first Sydney to San Francisco mail steamer service - 1 gummed stamp issued in sheetlets of 10. Designed by Jason Watts and lithographed by RA Printing and perforated 14 x 14.5. Rating:- ****. (AU20.36)
24 March 2020 - ‘Sports stadiums’ (sic) - 4 gummed stamps and 4 self-adhesive stamps from coils and 4 self-adhesive stamps from individual booklets, each containing 10 stamps of the same design (each booklet costing $11).
Designed by Andrew Hogg Design and lithographed by RA Print and perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- 0. (XAU20.37 - 48).
7 April 2020 - 94th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II - 2 gummed stamps, 1 gummed miniature sheet and 1 self adhesive stamp from ‘sheetlet’ of 5 x $3.20 sold for $16. Designed by Jo Muré and lithographed by EGO and perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- ***. (AU20.49 - 52).
14 April 2020 - ANZAC Day - 4 gummed stamps and 4 self-adhesive stamps from coils. Designed by Simone Sakinofsky from various paintings and lithographed by RA Printing and perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- *****. (AU20.53 - 61)..
13 March 2020 - Canberra Stamp Show 2020 - 1 miniature sheet containing 4 stamps. Rating:- *. (XAU20.62).
19 March 2020 - NZ 2020 Stamp Exhibition, Auckland, New Zealand - 4 miniature sheets, 2 containing 4 stamps and 2 containing 2 stamps. Rating:- * (XAU20.63 - 66).
21 April 2020 - Bird emblems of the Australian states - 6 gummed stamps and 6 self-adhesive stamps from 6 booklets each containing 10 stamps all of a single design. Designed by Sharon Rodziewicz and lithographed by RA Printing and perforated 14 x 14.5. Rating:- **. (XAU20.67 - 78).
🇲🇹 MaltaPost released its first new issue of the year on 14 February 2020 in the form of a set of 4 stamps which represent the second part of its Local houses series. The interesting stamps were designed by Angela Spiteri and the set was lithographed by Printex and perforated 14. Rating:- ***. (MTA20.1 - 4).
