1326. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Irish Christmas Stamp Features Elf On The Shelf.

  ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช An Post, the postal service of the Irish Republic, has issued 8 self-adhesive stamps for use on Christmas mail. One stamp which depicts 'The elf on the shelf' has been issued in a pack of 6 with 6 accompanying postcards. The other stamps are issued in a €19 booklet containing 18 x €1 stamps (making a discount of €1) and in a €5 booklet containing 4 x €1 and 2 x 50c stamps. The issue was designed by Detail and lithographed by Cartor and perforated 13. Rating:- **.











  ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ If there's a collector who feels that they haven't had enough opportunity to spend loads of money on stamps from Australia Post, fresh opportunities have arisen with the launch of its 2018 Impressions series of limited edition philatelic items.

  Chinese New Year, Year of The Pig - 1 miniature sheet sold in a plastic display stand and sold for $99.00c. Printed with '99.99% pure gold'. Rating - 0.


  'Australian Stamps 2018' - 5 sheetlets, 1 containing 16 different stamps, 1 containing 19 different stamps, 1 containing 8 different stamps, 1 containing 14 different stamps and 1 containing 30 different stamps. Sold for $116.95c in a limited edition of 200. Rating:- 0.






  'Territories Stamps 2018' - 2 sheetlets containing stamps inscribed Christmas Island, Australian Antarctic Territory, Cocos (Keeling) Islands or Norfolk Island. One sheetlet contains 24 different stamps and the other 17 different stamps. Sold for $57.95 in a limited edition of 200. Rating:- 0.



  'War Stories', 1 sheetlet containing 24 different stamps and the other containing 25 different stamps. Sold for $49.95c. Rating:- 0.



  ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฉ Bangladesh Post issued a se-tenant pair of previously issued stamps with overprints applied to commemorate the Phila Bangla philatelic exhibition which was held in Dhaka from 27 to 31 July 2018 on, I assume, the opening day of the exhibition. Rating:- **.

  1. On the let's try to put every stamps of the year on one sheet...

    The French philatelic service tried only once to issue a minisheet composed of the handful of special stamps issued at a stamp show... They never did it again because a lot of new issue collectors never understood why issue a souvenir with so different topics, graphics, etc.

    1. Thank you Sรฉbastien for your comment. I believe that the main selling point for these bizarre items is that they are sold in a limited edition of 200 and that buyers are expected to be attracted by the investment potential. These items will not be listed by Gibbons so I personally believe that they would not attract true collectors even if they have the money to spare. Best wishes WK.
