🇧🇸🇬🇧🇫🇰 Pobjoy Stamps/Creative Direction has announced the issue of a mini-omnibus series from Bahamas, the south Atlantic and Antarctica to commemorate the Platinum Wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke Of Edinburgh. The participating postal services are Ascension, Bahamas, British Antarctic Territory, Falkland Islands, South Georgia And The South Sandwich Islands and Tristan Da Cunha.
The issue is due to be released on 20 November 2017 on the actual anniversary date and each set is made up of 4 stamps which were designed by Bee Design and lithographed by Cartor (Ascension, BAT, Falklands, South Georgia and Tristan) and Lowe-Martin (Bahamas) and perforated 13 x 13.5 (Cartor-printed stamps) or perforated 13.5 (Bahamas issue).
As is usual with stamps from Creative Direction, the photographs used in the designs are well chosen and nicely displayed and some are quite unusual - I particularly like the portraits of the royal couple which appear on the BAT 66p and £1.22p stamps, the 55p and 1.05p South Georgia stamps, the 55p and £1.60p Ascension stamps, the £2 Tristan stamp and the 31p and £1.78 Falklands stamps.
