🇦🇺 Collectors will not be too surprised to know that Australia Post intends to release numerous issues in the first two months of 2022. No change there then.
🇨🇽 6 January 2022 - To start there is the pleasure of numerous products inscribed Christmas Island Australia which are related to commemoration of the Chinese New Year, Year of the Tiger. The issue was designed by Chrissy Lau and lithographed by RA Print and is made up of 3 stamps, a gummed miniature sheet containing all 3 stamps, a Zodiac sheet containing 15 different stamps and a Calendar sheet containing 12 different stamps and a Tiger ‘gold’ miniature sheet costing A$99. Rating:- **.
11 January 2022 - ‘Under Sail’, sailing in Australia - 3 gummed stamps (one illustrated at the top of this Blog). Designed by Mary Callahan Design and lithographed by EGO and perforated 14 x 14.5. There seems to be no special reason to release this issue at this time other than as a catchpenny. Rating:- *.
🇳🇫 Issue inscribed Australia (not Norfolk Island) but featuring a Norfolk Island subject. 19 January 2022 - ‘Historical views’ - 2 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing the 2 stamps. Designed by Sharon Rodziewicz and lithographed by RA Print and perforated 14 x 14.5. Rating:- **.
25 January 2022 - 50th anniversary of the Australian seat belt law - 1 gummed stamp from sheets of 10 and 1 gummed stamp from coils. Designed by Nigel Buchanan and lithographed by EGO and perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- ***.
8 February 2022 - ‘Times to Cherish’ (Greetings/Special Occasions stamps) - 5 gummed stamps and 4 self-adhesive stamps from booklets of 10 plus 1 gummed miniature sheet containing all 5 stamps and a A$35.95 ‘Wedding Prestige Collection’ booklet containing the Weddings design. Designed by Simone Sakinowsky, Sharon Rodziewicz, Sonia Young and Jo Muré and lithographed by EGO and perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- **.
22 February 2022 - ‘Our Beautiful Continent’ (Australian landscapes) - 4 gummed and 4 self-adhesive stamps from booklets of 10. Designed by Simone Sakinofsky and lithographed by EGO and perforated 14 x 14.5. Rating:- *.
