New issues.

🇬🇸 Bounty Post (postal service of Pitcairn Islands) -

2023 - commemoration of Dr William and Mrs Emily Ancrum (see Blog 2782) - 3 stamps in a se-tenant strip. Lithographed. Rating:- *****.  It was suggested that this issue had been released in 2025 but it appears that the year of issue by Tower Stamps was 2023.

2024 - The Pitcairn stamp designs of Jennifer Toombs (1940-2018) - 4 stamps issued as a se-tenant strip with a valueless label depicting the designer between the 2nd and 3rd stamps. Lithographed. Rating:-*****.
A very worthy subject.

All of the above items have been recently offered for sale on an internet auction site by Vmpetrol.

The American revolution.

In Blog 2920 I reported on the recent issues by the United States Post Office which commemorate the 250th anniversary of the rebellion of the Thirteen British colonies in North America and the declaration of Independence which established the United States of America. A further issue was released on 23 May 2026 which takes the form of a 2 pane ‘prestige booklet’ sold for US$28.95. The two panes are identical and each contain 10 different self-adhesive stamps which depict artefacts - ‘treasures’ - of the revolutionary period. These include a map of the Battle of Yorktown, the flag of the American Commander-in-chief, revolutionary currency, the badge of Mikitary Merit and a teapot with a revolutionary inscription. This is an interesting approach to commemorating the age of revolution and the issue was designed by Ethel Kessler.

2699. 🇬🇬🇳🇿 Guernsey Notes Liberation Anniversary; New Zealand’s Rocky Horror Issue.

New issues -

🇳🇿 New Zealand Post -

7 May 2025 - ‘Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show’ - 4 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing all 4 stamps. Designed by Chris Jones of Graphetti and lithographed by Brebner Print and perforated 14 x 14.5. The subject of this issue appears to be just another example of the random selection of aspects of modern popular culture which large postal services choose to feature on their postage stamps at this present time to cash in on anything they can,  no matter how trivial. New Zealand Post, in its publicity, is forced to underline that the country’s connection with the writer of this musical play and film is that, though born in England, O’Brien was brought up in New Zealand from the age of 10 years. The issue is not linked to any particular event or anniversary and appears to be quite unnecessary given that New Zealand Post now releases far too many issues and stamps.

Rating:- 0.

Meanwhile, a far more worthwhile issue of real significance -

🇬🇬 Guernsey Post -

1 May 2025 - 80th anniversary of Guernsey’s liberation from German military occupation - 6 stamps. Designed by Two Degrees North and lithographed by Bpost.

Rating:-*****.
