Photographs of the original artwork and a presentation of the stamp in sheetlet, miniature sheet and on first day cover between the Sultan and the President of India, Draupadi Murmu are also included below.
🇲🇿 Correios de Moçambique -
September (?) 2019 - Visit of Pope Francis to Mozambique in September 2019 - 1 stamp. Stewie1980, to whom thanks, has kindly drawn my attention to a posting dated 17 December 2023 on Stampboards by Aerogi in which attention is drawn to a previously unreported issue by Correios de Moçambique which commemorated the papal visit to Mozambique. This is the first known sighting of this stamp and is clearly a local production available for local use unlike the flood of items being produced in the country’s name at that time by the notorious ‘philatelic agency’, Stamperija. Rating:- ******.
It seems highly likely that there are still more of these as yet unreported stamps from Mozambique and news of fresh discoveries is always welcome.
