Unannounced RNLI Joint issue from offshore islands.
🇬🇬🇮🇲🇯🇪 Guernsey Post, Isle Of Man Post Office and Jersey Post -
The postal services of the three offshore Crown Territories - Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man - appear to have participated in what amounts to a joint issue commemorating the Bicentenary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) even though, as far as I am aware, no announcement has been made which uses the term ‘Joint issue’. All three have issued sets of six stamps with similar or identical designs by RNLI Creative along with similar ‘Prestige booklets’ as well as the IOM PO releasing an additional booklet of 10 stamps with the six stamps produced in self-adhesive format. The release dates were/will be:- 4 March 2024 (Jersey and Guernsey) and 4 January 2024 (Isle Of Man). The prices of the Prestige booklets are £31.14 (Guernsey), £27.93 (Jersey) and £21.10 (Isle of Man) and, for good measure, the Manx self-adhesive ‘Postal booklet’ is priced at £8.50.
Surprising to me, and perhaps I have missed it, despite the very high prices charged for the booklets in particular, none of these grasping postal administrations seem to have announced that they are making a donation to the RNLI charity out of the profits made from selling these products.
