๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ช The Commonwealth’s Greediest Stamp Issuing Postal Administrations of 2022.

See Blog 2063.

As usual this list is put together by using the total number of stamps* known to have been issued by each separate Commonwealth postal administration or their agents during the course of 2022. In some ways it might be more meaningful to add up the the total face value of every stamp but this is far too difficult for me to do in terms of time available to do the necessary research so I have again chosen the easier option and I believe the list gives some impression of what is happening on the Commonwealth stamps scene and which postal administrations appear to being the most abusive in terms of excessive stamp issuing.

* Here ‘stamps’ includes all postally valid stamps, miniature sheets, booklets, machine-dispensed stamps, ‘Collectors sheets’ and stamps for personalisation sold through post offices or their philatelic bureaux but not most deliberately created varieties such as imperforate versions.

As collectors know, some postal administrations - for example, Australia, Guernsey, Cook Islands and Tonga, United Kingdom - produce, or have produced on their behalf, stamps with the names of part of their territory printed on them even though those part territories do not have separate postal administrations. In this survey the part territories are included in the overall total of issues released by the main postal service.

  1. You are on the low side with Stamperija client Sierra Leone...
On their website are 913 items (mini sheets and souvenir sheets) listed under Sierra Leone 2022!
The 50 sheets on the first page are allready 144 different stamps!

  2. PS: A few dozen of those 913 items are FDC's, so I think at least 850 different sheets and in total at least 2000 different stamps.
I will do a count myself today because I really want to know now!

  3. WK - Yes, with Stamperija & IGPC I count the min sheets rather than individual stamps as the sheets are the units in which they are sold.

  4. I just counted Sierra Leone on Stamperija's website. 839 items for 2022.
Didn't counted how many different stamps these are yet... I'm sure way over 2000... Madness!
