2023 - Centenary of the American Disney Company - 6 packs each sold for $14.94 ($74.75 for the complete ‘collection’). Each pack contains a sheet of 6 different stamps plus a miniature sheet’ each containing 4 more different stamps. The pack themes are Mickey Mouse and Friends, Disney Celebration, Pixar, Star Wars, Princess and Marvel which results in a total of 36 stamps and 6 miniature sheets containing an additional 24 different stamps. Rating:- 0.

2023 - Heroes of Dreamworks - 1 sheetlet containing 12 different stamps sold for $17.50.
2023 - ‘Matildas stamp pack (featuring the Australian Women’s national football team) - 1 sheetlet containing 12 different stamps sold for $16.50.
At the end of this little two month-long issuing spree, Australia Post will have added another 151 stamps and 9 miniature sheets to its 2023 total number of stamps issued. Seriously, who does buy this trash?
What is a 'concession' stamp?
ReplyDeleteWhen Australia Post got permission to hike postal rates in 2014 to 70c, they introduced Concession stamps for those on governement benefits (mainly pensioners). It was recognition that the elderly were the main ones impacted by rate rises. Eligible people receive a card and can buy 50 stamps (in sheetlets of 5) a year. Considering postage is now $1.20, and Concession stamps are 60c each, its a big saving on postage. Personally I'm surprised they have kept them 60c each, and not increased the price. As an aside, these are sold to collectors at $1.20 each, as it is the only way they can sell them to collectors.
