2164. 🇬🇧 Royal Mail Reveals Its Stamps To Commemorate The Late Queen Elizabeth II.

New issues.

🇬🇧 Royal Mail

10 November 2022

Commemoration of the late Queen Elizabeth II - 4  stamps. Designed by Kate Stephens and lithographed by Cartor. Perforated 14.5 x 14. Depicted photographs are by Dorthy Wilding (2nd Class) (1952), Sir Cecil Beaton (1st Class) (1968), Yousuf Karsh (£1.85) (1984) and Tim Graham (£2.55) (1996).

These are pleasing, dignified and respectful stamps celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth. The designs of 4 of the five stamps issued in 2002 to commemorate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee have been reused with the addition of the years of the Queen’s birth and death and a black border. A fifth stamp in the 2002 set depicted a photographic portrait by the late Lord Snowden. Interestingly the stamps do not include a portrait/cameo or royal cipher of the new King Charles III.

Rating:- *****.
