🇬🇧 Royal Mail -
11 March 2025 - Garden wildlife - 10 stamps (2 se-tenant strips of 5 - 2nd Class domestic rate mail x 1 strip and 1st Class domestic rate mail x 1). There will also probably be a Collectors sheet containing the 10 stamps with attached labels. Further details are awaited. A tenth stamp in the set depicts a Garden snail. (illustration to be added). This edition will be revised when more information and better illustrations are available.
As with all the issues so far in 2025, there is no real reason why a set on this subject should be issued at this time especially against a background of monstrous excessive issuing of stamps by Royal Mail. Additionally while the United Kingdom has a fascinating population of species of wildlife this set depicts many British creatures previously featured, sometimes more than once, on stamps. The stamps are moderately attractive but excessive and even quite dull in the choice of subject. Rating:- *.
a wildlife set very similar to this & the same size 40 x 30 was issued in July 2023, this set seems unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteThe other one was River Wildlife, this is Garden Wildlife. It looks like a new series, such as we had with Post & Go stamps. Look out for Woodland Wildlife in 2027 and Moorland Wildlife in 2029.
DeleteThank you very much Ian both future issues in my diary.
