🇰🇳 St Kitts design competition to commemorate 40 years of friendship with Taiwan.

2023 - The government of St Kitts Nevis already has two stamp issues likely to be released in the foreseeable future though the date of issue of the four stamps to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Independence previously announced (Blog 2390) has not yet been revealed, even though the actual date of the anniversary has now passed. Likewise it is expected that stamps will also be issued by the St Kitts postal service to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Eastern Caribbean Bank (Blog 2344).

  Now a third issue has been announced, this time to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Taiwan though again there is no indication of the date of issue. The designs are those which won a competition run by the Taiwanese Embassy in Basseterre. The first prize was awarded to Lordsfavour Anukam with Anisha Maynard taking second place and Uta Taylor placed third. We wait to see if this stamp issue does indeed see the light of day and how easy it is for collectors to obtain a set. IGPC has traditionally produced stamps on behalf of St Kitts and Nevis but it usually employs a printing house in the People’s Republic of China to produce stamps and one doubts that  it would have anything to do with printing stamps which commemorate a country having good relations with Taiwan.

In the past 4 months there have been very few new postage stamps announced for release by IGPC. Most announced issues are those of postal services such as Royal Mail and Guernsey Post. In the latest announcement from IGPC the following philatelic products are stated to have been released, though with no date of issue, on behalf of the postal service of -
