๐ผ๐ธ Samoa Post -
February 2022 - Steven Zirinsky now has the high value surcharges issued in February 2022 and mentioned in Blogs 2096 and 2210 featured on his shop’s website. Given the very high face values and the relative rarity of the stamps it is not surprising that the items are expensive. It is interesting to see them however even if they require the collector to have deep pockets to be able to obtain them.
๐ญ๐ฐ Hong Kong Post -
18 August 2022 - Fruit (second issue) - 6 stamps, 1 miniature sheet containing a single large stamp and 1 ‘mini-pane’ containing 2 sets. Designed by Peter Ng Seung-ho and lithographed. An attractive issue but quite unnecessary against a background of an excessive new issue programme. Rating:- **.
That seems to be two labels now appearing with values but no country name. You would have expected them to overprint the country name on the labels, to comply with UPU regs.
ReplyDeletethose Samoa overprint values are absolutely insane
ReplyDeleteScott comments that the labels were accepted as valid for postage, despite not having the country name. While the face values are high most mail leaving Samoa now are parcels to the diaspora living in New Zealand and Australia. I suspect that as Samoa is a small island and with email there is little need for stamps to cover domestic mail rates or international letter rates. This may change with borders opening and tourists returning.
