1965. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ Tristan Da Cunha Recalls 1961 Evacuation.

πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ The postal service of Tristan Da Cunha will issue a set of 4 stamps on 3 November 2021 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the arrival in Britain of the Tristan islanders who had been evacuated from their homes because of the island’s erupting volcano. This interesting and historic set was designed by Bee Design using photographs by Joan Umpleby, British PathΓ© and Mike Faulds and was lithographed by Cartor and the stamps are perforated 13.5. Production was coordinated by Creative Direction. Rating:- *****.

Thanks to Juliet Warner of Pobjoy Stamps for information about this issue.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ The home delivery company Ocado has depicted on its internet site from at least 26 October 2021 onwards photographs of the 2nd Class rate and 1st Class rate stamps of the Royal Mail 2021 Christmas stamps which the business is offering for sale in booklets of twelve. The site clearly says that the booklets are available from 2 November but there already many customer comments about the products on the site complaining that when they ordered the stamps they received different booklets (yes, of course you did! the site says they’re not available for a few more days) but equally there are comments from customers expressing their satisfaction with the new stamps so whether or not these are a source of early release of the issue or the stamps received by the customers are last year’s issue, we can not be sure.
