π§π² The postal service of Bermuda issued a very attractive set of 4 Christmas ‘Greetings’ stamps on 30 September 2021. The stamps were lithographed by Lowe Martin.
Thanks to Gene W of Colnect for drawing my attention to this issue. Rating:- *****.
π¦πΊ The latest list of new issues from Australia Post contains only the upcoming Christmas stamps inscribed Australia and the Christmas stamps which are inscribed Christmas Island Australia.
The set inscribed Australia is made up of 3 rather uninteresting stamps featuring decorated biscuits and 2 with a more religious theme. All 5 designs are to be sold in gummed format as well as self-adhesive from booklets and the 65c secular stamps are also in self-adhesive format from sheetlets of 10. There is also a gummed miniature sheet. The issue is designed by Jo MurΓ© and Sonia Young and the stamps are lithographed by RA Printing (religious stamps) and EGO (secular stamps) and Rapid Labels (secular self-adhesives from sheets of 10). The gummed stamps are perforated 14.5 x 14. Rating:- **.
The set inscribed Christmas Island is made up of 2 gummed stamps, 1 gummed miniature sheet and 1 self-adhesive stamp from a sheetlet of 10. The cartoony style of local wildlife meeting Father Christmas is cheerful and amusing but has been used continuously over the last few years and has now probably overstayed its welcome. The issue was designed by Andrew McIntosh and Sonia Young and the stamps were lithographed by RA Printing and Rapid Labels (sheetlet of 10) and are perforated 14 x 14.5. Rating:- ***.
These items are all due to be issued on 1 November 2021.
Apart from the above Australia Post also intends to issue even more of the tiresome stamp packs containing 2 sheetlets each of 12 different stamps (a total of 24 different stamps per pack) and sold at a premium price of A$17.95. There are two such packs titled ‘Elf on the Shelf’ and ‘Mickey Mouse and Friends Christmas pack’. Rating:- 0.
