We may expect a number of postal services to issue stamps commemorating the late queen during 2026. Of the 56 independent Commonwealth member states, for some time at least, she was Queen of all of them (or parts of them) apart from India, Brunei Darussalam, Tonga, eSwatini, Lesotho, Maldive Islands, Mozambique, Rwanda, Gabon and Togo. This list of philatelic entities over which she reigned are added to by the many dependent territories, some of which, I’m sure, will join in the philatelic commemoration of this great and much loved historical figure who became the longest reigning monarch in British history and who carried out her work with admirable dignity and ensured that her time as queen became known as the second Elizabethan age.
