20 June 2024 - Red Arrows 60th season - 8 stamps (2 se-tenant pairs of 1st Class stamps and 2 x setenant pairs of £2 stamps) (total face value £13.40),1 miniature sheet containing 4 different stamps (cost £7.70) and 1 ‘Prestige booklet’ sold for £26.75p containing 4 panes, one of which reproduces the miniature sheet (pane 4) but with different values from the basic miniature sheet and another made up of King Charles III definitives - 2 x £2 plus 4 non-postally valid labels, pane 3). Designed by Interabang and lithographed by Cartor and perforated 14.. Rating:- **.
Illustrations - the miniature sheet values seem to have been a problem for Royal Mail with the recent change of the £2.20 value to £2.50 & three illustrations can be found - £2.20, £2.50 and no value at all on the Pyramids stamp. The £2.20 value appears to be that included in the Prestige booklet pane 4, the miniature sheet includes the £2.50 values but one of the website illustrations shows the miniature sheet as having no value - presumably a presale publicity version mock-ups.
These are attractive with spectacular images. Unusually the miniature sheet will be the most useful product for those of us who use commemorative stamps for postage. It would be interesting to know whether this would mean higher sales for the miniature sheet: the £2 stamps would need 50p added for use. Getting 2 stamps on a postcard to Sweden; for example; would make cramming the address in, or reading the postmark, hard because data matrix stamps are so broad.
