🇬🇧 Royal Mail -

5 September 2023 - Paddington. The previously unannounced issue due on 5 September 2023, just 3 days before the first anniversary of the death of the greatly loved Queen Elizabeth II, will depict the character, Paddington. Famously, Her late Majesty, appeared in a short film with Paddington the Bear on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee in 2022, where The Queen revealed she shared the bear’s love of marmalade sandwiches. Given the timing of the issue, we wonder whether the designs will feature scenes from Paddington’s meeting with Her late Majesty to celebrate the life, and brilliant sense of humour, of Queen Elizabeth. What a great and popular new issue it might be. Paddington has of course featured on previous Royal Mail issues.
