Designed by Martin Mörck and lithographed by BPost Belgium. Rating:- *. These are attractive designs depicting an interesting and relevant subject though not associated, as far as I can see, with a particular anniversary or event but the face value of £32.12p for the set and miniature sheet is exceptionally high.

ReplyDeleteHas Jersey issued a definitive series recently? Could they be going down the route of issuing commemorative stamps for the higher rates and keeping them on sale for extended periods of time?
ReplyDeleteWK - Jersey issued a ‘Crest of Jersey’ definitive series in 2015 and has issued various high values since then partly to commemorate royal anniversaries and events and partly as definitives. It also has annual Post and Go issues which could be viewed as definitives. It is a generous interpretation of Jersey Post’s motives to say that the high values appearing in its numerous commemorative sets are substitutes for new definitives.
DeleteI agree in part. The Crest definitives were make up values and weren't representative of any actual postal rates. If someone wants a £2.55 stamp you either sell them one commemorative stamp or four crest stamps (£1 X 2, 50p and 5p). If £2.55 is a popular rate it's going to save post offices time and money. I also don't know how wide spread Post and Go machines are
