2505. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Royal Mail New Stamps Feature The Postman’s Best Friend - The Dog.

New issues -

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Royal Mail

6 June 2024 - Dogs - 10 stamps issued in 2 se-tenant strips each of 5 different stamps (5 x 2nd and 5 x 1st) (face value of set £11) and 1 ‘Collectors sheet’ containing the 10 different stamps each with attached labels and sold for £12.20). Designed by Royal Mail Group Ltd and lithographed by Cartor and perforated 14.5.  Rating:-  .****.

There seems to be no reason to issue stamps on this subject this year though if the set had been released last year it would have coincided with the 150th anniversary of the Kennel Club, a subject worthy of commemoration. This issue follows on also from the 2023 set depicting various types of domestic cats. I should rate it low but as a collector of ‘Labradors on stamps’ I am unable to resist this issue which uses some excellent photographs in its designs. It coukd be a very popular issue as there are many popular breeds depicted on the stamps and many dog lovers might want to buy them to use on mail if they ever want to send a letter to someone through the post.
