1 September 2022 - Urban Art series 2 - 4 self-adhesive stamps issued in a booklet. Designed by Shaughan McGrath Collective and lithographed by Enschedรฉ. The art featured is ‘Therapy’ by Joe Caslin located at Montague Lane, Dublin, ‘Jack Charlton’ (former Irish football team manager) by Caoilfhion Hanlon and Niall O’Lochlainn at Slievekeale Road and Barrack Road, Waterford, ‘The Norman Way’ by Holly Pereira in New Ross in County Wexford and ‘Cormac’ by Aches produced for the Waterford Walls Festival of 2019 located at Mount Simon Road. Eye-catching and colourful. Rating:- *****.

A theme perhaps that someone with a bit of imagination at Royal Mail could take up for its stamps. After all there are Banksy’s numerous wall scrawls greatly in need of being featured on stamps (though perhaps organising the rights to feature them might be difficult and expensive) but if anyone cares to come to Birmingham’s trendy Digbeth area (one of the oldest parts of the city) there’s lots of clever urban art there to view and feature.

Some urban art nearer to home here in Birmingham -

and don’t forget The Peaky Blinders:-
