1753. 🇿🇦 Endangered Frogs Appear On New South African Issue.

ðŸ‡¿ðŸ‡¦ The South African Post Office has issued a set of 4 self-adhesive stamps as a sheetlet on the subject of Endangered species of frogs of South Africa.  I think the set was released in early October possibly on the 8th of the month though judging by the date printed on the sheet it may well have been intended for release on 29 February 2020 (which would have been quite apt as it was the extra day of the leap year). The issue was lithographed by Cartor. An attractive issue on an  important subject. Rating:- *****.

🇦🇺 Sadly there are a lot more My Stamps which I place in the same category as the rubbish that pours out of Stamperija - it’s sad to see that modern Australian philately has sunk to such unplumbed depths. For the present I will list them just to illustrate how bad things are but cannot be bothered to illustrate any of it.

30 October 2020 - Elf on the Shelf - 24 different self-adhesive stamps sold in packs costing $17.95 as 2 sheetlets of 12.

30 October 2020 - Minions Christmas  - 12 different self-adhesive stamps sold in a pack costing $13.75 as a sheetlet.

November/December 2020 - Advent Calendar containing just 4 Christmas stamps and 6 ‘unique’ My Stamps sold for $19.95.

  1. I had to look it up! From wikipedia:

"The Cascades Female Factory, a former Australian workhouse for female convicts in the penal colony of Van Diemen's Land, is located in Hobart, Tasmania. Operational between 1828 and 1856, the factory is now one of the 11 sites that collectively compose the Australian Convict Sites, listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO"

    1. To be honest Ian, I hadn’t read the caption but I can see why you had to look it up. It is slightly mind boggling.
