1751. 🇸🇨 Seychelles Commemorates First Tourists.

ðŸ‡¸ðŸ‡¨ As first mentioned in Blog 1737 the Seychelles postal service issued a single stamp on 9 October 2020 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the first recorded landing on Ste Anne island where the first settlement in Seychelles would later be established. We might view these arrivals as the first tourists to visit the future republic. The stamp was designed by Eileen Hoareau from artwork by Mrs Alexandra Arais. The issue was also timed to coincide with World Post Day. This is great little stamp. What a pity that the Seychelles postal service does not issue stamps a little more frequently - there’s so much the country has to tell the world about itself through the philatelic medium. Rating:- *****.

🇱🇰 There have been two recent new issues from Sri Lanka Post -

9 October 2020 - World Post Day - 1 stamped, printed in lithography. Rating:- ***.

9 October 2020 - “Let’s rise up defeating COVID-19”. 4 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing all 4 stamps witch a decidedly Sri Lankan twist on the subject printed in lithography. Rating:- ****.

🇰🇪 The postal service of Kenya issued 2 stamps on 2 October 2020 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Birth of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian politician. Rating:- *****.

🇸🇬 Singapore Post will issue a pair of stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing the two stamps on 22 August 2020 as a Joint issue with the postal service of Hungary. The two stamps depict Bridges of Singapore and Hungary and were designed by the Hungarian designer Imre Benedek and lithographed by Secura and perforated 13. A modestly priced and attractive pair of stamps. Rating:- ****.

🇮🇳 India Post recently issued a single My Stamp in the usual format of a sheetlet of 12 with attached labels sold at a premium price to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Mahanagar Gas.
