1686. 🇧🇲🇧🇿 Bridges Of Bermuda And Birds Definitives Of Belize.

🇧🇲 The postal service of Bermuda issued a set of 4 stamps on 21 May 2020 on the subject of local bridges. The issue was lithographed by Southern Colour Print and perforated 14. Rating:- ***.

🇧🇿 The postal service of Belize issued a new definitive set of 14 stamps depicting local birds on 29 April 2020 after post offices reopened following a reduction in services due to the COVID-19. The issue was designed by Liz Prescott, a designer at CASCO stamps, and lithographed by Lowe Martin and perforated 13. Unfortunately I only have a picture of one of the stamps at present but details of the designs are - 5c, Yellow crowned night heron, 10c, Double crested cormorant, 15c, Wood stork, 25c, Collared aracari, 30c, Green heron, 40c, Vermillion flycatcher (Male), 50c Brown pelican, 60c, Mangrove warbler, 75c, Tropical mockingbird, $1, Vermillion flycatcher (Female), $1.50, Barn owl, $2, Great tailed grackle, $5, Crested guan and $10, Roadside hawk. This looks like it is an excellent set. Rating:- *****.

🇻🇬 Pobjoy Stamps has announced the reissue of 2 definitives of British Virgin Islands from its current series with a ‘2020’ imprint. The 80c (Caribbean reef squad) and $1 (Pedersen cleaner shrimp) values will be reissued on 15 June 2020 and were designed by Bee Design and lithographed by Cartor with production coordination by Creative Direction and perforated 13.5.

Also reissued with a 2020 imprint are the 6 contemporary high value revenue stamps which are also to be released on 15 June 2020. It is important to stress that these are revenue stamps and not postage stamps and are not therefore required for inclusion in a collection of postage stamps. But they are very attractive.

Thanks to Juliet Warner of Pobjoy for information about these items.

🇬🇬 The upcoming issue from Guernsey Post previously mentioned in Blog 1685 which will be its contribution to the annual SEPAC omnibus series will be released on 21 July 2020 and is made up of 6 stamps, all of which are now depicted here. A colourful set, it depicts works of art in the National Collection which is the prescribed theme of for this year’s omnibus. Rating:- ***.

  1. And with that, three countries that were on the "no new stamps for 2020" are off the list.

  2. The Belize bird definitives have been pending for years. I was starting to think they would never appear.
