23 August 2026 - Commemoration of Ramphal Mandal, a ‘Freedom Fighter’ who was hanged after confessing to the brutal murder of four Sikh officials of the British imperial government in India - 1 stamp. Designed by Shri Kamleshwar Singh. Rating:- *.

🇯🇲 Jamaica Post -

8 September 2025 - 175th anniversary of St George’s College - 2 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing a single stamp. Lithographed. Rating:- ****. These photographs appear on the Spectre of Stamps internet site and are currently offered for sale by that dealer.

🇰🇪 Kenya Post -

3 June 2026 - 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kenya and the former Soviet Union. Previously reported in Blog 2937 this issue appears to be made up of 4 stamps rather than a miniature sheet. Lithographed. Rating:- **.

15 August 2025 - The history of ship building in Jersey - 6 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing all 6 stamps. Designed by Martin Mörck and lithographed by bpost. Some nice stamps but issued for no obvious reason as part of an excessive new issue programme. Rating:- *.

I have incomplete information on some new issues from different sources. Thanks to Gene of Colnect for information about the Jamaican issues and the Kiribati stamps are featured at the head of the Spectre of Stamps shop page on the E Bay internet auction site.

2025 - ?August - 80th anniversary of Allied victory in the Pacific area at the end of the Second World War,VJ Day - at least 3 previously issued stamps overprinted with the text “15 AUGUST 2025/VJDAY 80th”. Rating:- ****.

🇬🇭 Ghana Post -

15 May 2023 - Traditional African musical instruments - 2 miniature sheets, one containing 4 stamps and the other a single stamp (see Blog 2306). A comment from a reader sheds new light on this issue and demonstrates that at least one of the stamps from these sheets has received postal usage in Ghana. Rating therefore upgraded to ***. Thanks to Anonymous for contributing this very useful comment.

2024 - Traditional women’s dresses (see Blog 2703). Another very helpful comment from a reader confirms that this issue appears to have gone on sale in 2024. I have requested Anonymous to ask if they would kindly let me know if any other purchases of issues from 2024 were made which have not been covered in recent CSO Blogs. In the mean time, my thanks for the information.

2554. 🇲🇿 Mozambique Appoints New Postal Operator.

 

🇲🇿 Correio Expresso de Moçambique (postal service of Mozambique) -

24 May 2024 - It was announced that the government of Mozambique had appointed Correio Expresso de Moçambique (CORRE) as the new universal postal service provider in Mozambique, three years after the Mozambique government had terminated the former national postal service, Correios de Moçambique. 

  The shareholders of the new postal service are Correios de Portugal and Empresa Nacional de Correios de Moçambique and CORRE stated that,”The company offers a wide range of services, including the collection, processing, transport and distribution of urgent and express documents and goods, both nationally and internationally, as well as courier, transport and logistics services”.

  The statement claimed that the appointment represents a significant step in the liberalisation and and modernisation of the postal service in Mozambique, “promoting greater efficiency and quality in the services provided to our citizens”. 

  There is no report of the new service, which seems to be largely centred on the delivery of parcels and express postal services, has so far issued, or intends to issue in the future, any postage stamps but collectors will need to keep their eyes open for any interesting items coming out of this new postal service officially recognised as the state postal service in Mozambique.
