🇲🇿 Correio Expresso de Moçambique (postal service of Mozambique) -
24 May 2024 - It was announced that the government of Mozambique had appointed Correio Expresso de Moçambique (CORRE) as the new universal postal service provider in Mozambique, three years after the Mozambique government had terminated the former national postal service, Correios de Moçambique.
The shareholders of the new postal service are Correios de Portugal and Empresa Nacional de Correios de Moçambique and CORRE stated that,”The company offers a wide range of services, including the collection, processing, transport and distribution of urgent and express documents and goods, both nationally and internationally, as well as courier, transport and logistics services”.
The statement claimed that the appointment represents a significant step in the liberalisation and and modernisation of the postal service in Mozambique, “promoting greater efficiency and quality in the services provided to our citizens”.
There is no report of the new service, which seems to be largely centred on the delivery of parcels and express postal services, has so far issued, or intends to issue in the future, any postage stamps but collectors will need to keep their eyes open for any interesting items coming out of this new postal service officially recognised as the state postal service in Mozambique.
