5 January 2023 - Chinese New Year, Year of the Rabbit - 6 stamps, 1 miniature sheet containing all 6 stamps and 1 gold foil miniature sheet containing the 6 stamps (sold for £99 in a perspex case and limited edition of 100). Designed by Chrissy Lau and lithographed by Southern Colour Print and perforated 13.5. Rating:- 0.
1 December 2022 - Christmas Post and Go - 18 stamps - strips of 6 different ‘Bailiwick Cuisine’ stamps with additional inscription, “Bon Noël 2022” dispensed from kiosk GG02 (Envoy House) and kiosk GG03 (Guernsey Information Centre) and the 6 different ‘Lighthouses’ stamps with the same additional inscription dispensed from kiosk GG05 (Market post office).

7 December 2022 - 50th anniversary of the Apollo XVII space mission - 1 miniature sheet containing 6 different stamps sold for £12. Designed by Ben Glazier. Rating:- 0.
Are the Isle of Man stamps new or reprints of past issues? The values are curious "Postage Paid USA" along with £2.55 on the same stamp is rather odd. What happens when the rate to the USA increases? I suppose one positive of the Queen's passing is post offices will be less likely to reprint older issues as they feature the Queen's cypher or silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI think the designs have been used previously and have been reincorporated in this new miniature sheet. Presumably reusing old stamp designs means the design costs are very small. This is a littl3 trick IOM PO guests up to quite often.
