New Issues.
Royal Mail - 1 February 2022 - New Machin Head definitives with bar coding. The illustrations are a little blurred as they are taken from illustrations on Twitter of a first day cover for the issue being produced by Buckingham Covers - 4 values (2nd, 1st, 2nd Large and 1st Large). These I like.There is no new issue mentioned on the 2022 Calendar (see below) for release on 1 February. Rating:- ****.
New issue programmes for 2022
The Royal Mail website now features the new issue stamp calendar for 2023 although it continues to include several to be announced items on it.
I'm wondering why the new colours for the Machins. Suspect it's to break from the past, but the light blue for the 1st class Large is too similar to the 2nd class blue. Though the service type maybe incorporated into the matrix too.
