2922. 🇵🇳 Update On Pitcairn.

New issues.

🇬🇸 Bounty Post (postal service of Pitcairn Islands) -

2023 - Friends of Pitcairn Islands - 2 stamps issued as a se-tenant pair. Lithographed. Rating:- *****.

2023 - commemoration of Dr William and Mrs Emily Ancrum (see Blog 2782) - 3 stamps in a se-tenant strip. Lithographed. Rating:- *****.  It was suggested that this issue had been released in 2025 but it appears that the year of issue by Tower Stamps was 2023.

2024 - The Pitcairn stamp designs of Jennifer Toombs (1940-2018) - 4 stamps issued as a se-tenant strip with a valueless label depicting the designer between the 2nd and 3rd stamps. Lithographed. Rating:-*****.
A very worthy subject.

All of the above items have been recently offered for sale on an internet auction site by Vmpetrol.

The American revolution.

In Blog 2920 I reported on the recent issues by the United States Post Office which commemorate the 250th anniversary of the rebellion of the Thirteen British colonies in North America and the declaration of Independence which established the United States of America. A further issue was released on 23 May 2026 which takes the form of a 2 pane ‘prestige booklet’ sold for US$28.95. The two panes are identical and each contain 10 different self-adhesive stamps which depict artefacts - ‘treasures’ - of the revolutionary period. These include a map of the Battle of Yorktown, the flag of the American Commander-in-chief, revolutionary currency, the badge of Mikitary Merit and a teapot with a revolutionary inscription. This is an interesting approach to commemorating the age of revolution and the issue was designed by Ethel Kessler.
