16 October 2025 - 90th anniversary of the introduction of Monopoly, a board game invented in the United States - 10 x 1st Class domestic rate stamps (2 se-tenant strips of 5) (cost £17) and 1 ‘Collectors sheet’ containing 10 different stamps with attached labels costing £18.20. Designed by Hat-trick Design and lithographed by Cartor and perforated 14.5 x 14. Assuredly the dullest set of 10 stamps commemorating the most inconsequential of anniversaries that Royal Mail has yet managed to come up with. Rating:- 0.

1 October 2025 - 70th anniversary of the Barbados Fire Brigade - 5 stamps. Barbados Stamps has recently featured these new stamps on its internet site -























Although I wholeheartedly agree with the Monopoly issue being described as "[a]ssuredly the dullest set of 10 stamps commemorating the most inconsequential of anniversaries that Royal Mail has yet managed to come up with," I fear that in 2026 and beyond, we may look back upon this as part of the 'good old days' as the downward spiral continues.
