1936 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ IGPC Reveals Designs Of Royal Mail DC Comics Stamps.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The New York-based philatelic agency IGPC has revealed the designs of the upcoming issue from Royal Mail which will depict characters featured in DC Comics, which are produced in the United States. There will be 12 stamps (2 se-tenant strips of 6) which will depict characters from the Batman comic and a miniature sheet containing 6 different stamps depicting characters from the Justice League comic. The issue is due to be released on 17 September 2021. It is a disgrace that Royal Mail will issue products such as these which have nothing to do with the United Kingdom when there are thousands of subjects relevant to Britain which could be celebrated on Royal Mail stamps. Rating:- 0.

As regards its own products on the new issue list, IGPC intends to release the following products with the names of Commonwealth countries printed on them (all are rated 0):-

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Antigua And Barbuda - no stated date of issue - 10th Wedding anniversary of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (2 miniature sheets); Tropical fruit (2 miniature sheets); ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฒ The Gambia - 1 September 2021 - Crocodiles (2 miniature sheets); Dolphins (2 miniature sheets); ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Grenada - 16 August 2021 - Olympic Games Tokyo (1 miniature sheet); ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Grenada Carriacou And Petite Martinique - 16 August 2021 - Centenary of the Discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamen (2 miniature sheets); ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡พ Guyana - 2 August 2021 - Olympic Games Tokyo (1 miniature sheet); ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ป Tuvalu - 5 July 2021 - 4 miniature sheets, 1 each on the subjects of Elvis Presley, Dolphins, Marine life and Mushrooms.

  1. I actually like stamps about comics and the set about Marvel was one of my favourite issues of 2019, although I can understand why others hate them. This issue however is an disappointment. Who decided to crowd all those popular, famous superheroes on the souvenir sheet while giving every reasonably known Batman villain his/her own stamp? Also the Marvel set coincided with one of the biggest movie releases of the last decade. For this issue there is no such excuse. It will be interesting to see which reason Royal Mail will invent.

  2. Hello. Can't Royal Mail imagine such series mixing both approach?
    - a 5, 8 or 10 stamps with characters of a famous TV/comics/film...
    - a minisheet of 4 on British writers, cartoonists, directors, that have actually marked the history of this sector.
