๐ฌ๐ง By now most collectors will not be surprised to know that Royal Mail intends to burden them with even more Star Wars-themed philatelic items. There’s no doubt that these products are eye-catching and the stamps, as before, are nicely designed but it’s all very tiresome and, of course, rather expensive. It’s nice to see a couple of distinguished British actors featured on the stamps.
The basic issue is made up of 10 stamps (2 strips of 5 different stamps) and 1 self-adhesive
miniature sheet containing 6 different stamps. Then there is a ‘Collectors sheets’ containing one each of the new stamps with attached labels (sold for £8.10p), a counter booklet containing 6 x 1st class stamps (2 of the issue and 4 Machin Head definitives), a Prestige booklet, sold for £17.65p, along with a ‘Limited edition prestige booklet’ sold for £49.99p and a sheet of 30 different stamps (1 each of the basic stamps from each issue) sold for £21. The prestige Booklets include a pane of 9 Machin Head definitives - 4 x 2nd, 2 x 5p and 2 x £1.17p.
The date of issue will be 26 November 2019. The stamps were designed by Interabang from illustrations by Malcolm Tween and lithographed by International Security Printers and perforated 14.5.
Rating:- *.
๐ฎ๐ณ India Post issued 2 stamps and 1 miniature sheet containing the 2 stamps on 14 November 2019. The designs showing children’s art are. rather uninspiring. Rating:- **.
