858. Jamaica's Joint Issue With Mexico; Yet More Post And Go Labels.

Jamaica Post issued a se-tenant pair of stamps on 28 October 2016 depicting butteflies which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jamaica and Mexico. This was a joint issue with Mexico's postal service which has released similar stamps. This is an attractive issue in which well chosen photographs have been used in their designs. Rating:- *****.

Hot on the tail of the issue of the Shakespeare Birthplace Centre Post and Go stamps (Blog 855), kiosk A011 snapped into action at the Royal Corps of Signals Museum at Blandford Forum in Dorset. The kiosk began to dispense Machin Head (code MA13) and Union Jack labels on 3 November 2016  with the added inscription "Royal Corps/of Signals" and the badge of the Corps. (Mercury) is additionally depicted on the Machin Head stamps. Rating:- *.

I have not yet illustrated the Post and Go labels which first went on sale at the London-based Postal Museum on 14 September 2016 and which is due to remain on sale until 11 November. The issue commemorates the 80th anniversary of the issue of the 1d definitive stamp which depicted King Edward VIII. The issue is made up of Machin Head labels in the 1st (code MA15) and 2nd Class designs with the Postal Museum logo and the additional inscription "King Edward VIII 1936" and the king's royal cipher which he is said to have designed himself. Rating:- 0.

During the period of issue of these items, the kiosk erroneously dispensed 'Union Jack" labels with part of the added inscription applied - the king's cipher.

Kiosk A001 in the Postal Museum in London also began to dispense labels depicting Poppies (code MA15) and the museum's logo on 24 October 2016 and it is intended that these will also remain on sale until 11 November. Rating:- 0.

If bought directly from the kiosks themselves, each "Collectors strip" costs £7.75 (apart from the 2nd class designs) so the above collection of Collectors strips adds up to another £32.30p (see Blogs 855 and 856). Therefore in the past week I have mentioned recent Post and Go labels, the face value of which totals £115.30p!
