635. New Items From Stamperija And South Asia..


  This week's joyous news of new products from Stamperija with the names of Commonwealth countries printed on them involves Mozambique and Solomon Islands.
  From Solomon Islands come 10 sheetlets each consisting of 4 different "stamps" plus 10 "miniature sheets" on the following subjects:- Tall ships, Orchids, Achievement of Queen Elizabeth II in becoming the longest reigning British monarch, Birth of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Frigatebirds, Dinosaurs, Agatha Christie (British novelist), Terns, Monarch flycatchers and Honeyeaters. The stated date of issue was 3 September 2015. Rating:- 0






  The items produced by Stamperija in the name of Mozambique are even more numerous - 15 sheetlets each of 4 different "stamps" plus 15 "'miniature sheets" on the subjects of Owls, Doves and pigeons, Frogs, Giraffes, the Fight against malaria, Hippopotami, Lizards, the Birth of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Prehistoric aquatic reptiles, Parrots, Seabirds, Snakes, Turtles, Whales and Monkeys. The stated day of issue was 15 June 2015. Rating:- 0





  Pakistan Post issued a se-tenant block of 6 different stamps on 7 September  2015 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Defence Day. Rating:- ****.





  The postal administration of Sri Lanka released a lovely set of 4 stamps and 1 miniature sheet on 3 September 2015 on the subject of gems of Sri Lanka. The issue was designed by Plasthi Ediriweera and Sanath Rohana (Rs25). 1 million of each value was printed along with 15000 miniature sheets. Rating:- *****.






  India Post issued a single stamp on 10 September 2015 to commemorate the 10th World Hindi Conference which is being held in Bhopal from 10 to 12 September. The first ever such conference was held in Nagpur in India from 10 to 12 January 1975. Rating:- **.
