New issues.
🇬🇸 Bounty Post (postal service of Pitcairn Islands) -
2023 - Friends of Pitcairn Islands - 2 stamps issued as a se-tenant pair. Lithographed. Rating:- *****.
2023 - commemoration of Dr William and Mrs Emily Ancrum (see Blog 2782) - 3 stamps in a se-tenant strip. Lithographed. Rating:- *****. It was suggested that this issue had been released in 2025 but it appears that the year of issue by Tower Stamps was 2023.
2024 - The Pitcairn stamp designs of Jennifer Toombs (1940-2018) - 4 stamps issued as a se-tenant strip with a valueless label depicting the designer between the 2nd and 3rd stamps. Lithographed. Rating:-*****.
A very worthy subject.
All of the above items have been recently offered for sale on an internet auction site by Vmpetrol.
The American revolution.
In Blog 2920 I reported on the recent issues by the United States Post Office which commemorate the 250th anniversary of the rebellion of the Thirteen British colonies in North America and the declaration of Independence which established the United States of America. A further issue was released on 23 May 2026 which takes the form of a 2 pane ‘prestige booklet’ sold for US$28.95. The two panes are identical and each contain 10 different self-adhesive stamps which depict artefacts - ‘treasures’ - of the revolutionary period. These include a map of the Battle of Yorktown, the flag of the American Commander-in-chief, revolutionary currency, the badge of Mikitary Merit and a teapot with a revolutionary inscription. This is an interesting approach to commemorating the age of revolution and the issue was designed by Ethel Kessler.

Vmpetrol may have the Pitcairn Island & the new Papua New Guinea stamps listed on Ebay for sale. BUT they are well over priced, and buyers should look around for better deals.
ReplyDelete(PNG try Bombay Stamps & Pitcairn Island try Tower Mint)
Yes they are highly priced BUT is any other dealer offering these stamps for sale? I can’t find any and Tower Mint, as far as I can see, has not offered these Pitcairn stamps for direct sale to stamp collectors up to now. Maybe other dealers will be able to sell them in the near or longer distance future at lower prices.it’s a gamble - buy at higher prices or risk not being able to get them until some time in the distant future.
DeleteWith Tower Mint being Pitcairn Island official seller of their stamps. And that they are not selling them, are these stamps unofficial and released by someone else?
DeleteI am afraid that I do not know the answer to your question. It may be that Tower Mint have not yet put them on their internet site for sale to the public.Thiseems to be happening a lot - Harry Allen has ot updated its internet site with sales of some countries stamps for quite a long time (going to the site merely tells you that a new site is in preparation), IGPC has not updated its new issues for almost 12 months &Philatelic Collector Inc likewise has not added any new Tonga/Cook Islands issues for a very long time. It all makes new issue collecting very difficult.
DeleteI like the Toombs commemoration, but not at $50+.
