And a (somewhat belated) Happy Christmas to you and yours, as well... and indeed to all who read this comment.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as 2025 draws to a close, I express my immense gratitude for all of the work done in another year maintaining Commonwealth Stamps Opinion as THE go-to internet location for philatelic information within the countries covered (which, helpfully, includes all of the nations in which I take an active interest).
I wish I could predict 2026 will provide you with a reduced workload, or of philatelic products which are more aesthetically or culturally pleasing, but I anticipate an ever increasing volume featuring subject matter of increasing irrelevance (and of negligible artistic merit)...
...and few which give the genuine pleasure of the 1983 Caicos Islands sheetlet featured at the head of this Christmas Day post (despite the lack of any cultural relevance flying in the face of my earlier expressed sentiment).
Again, I wish you well for the rest of the holiday season and throughout next year.
WK replying. Thank you very much for your very kind remarks and best wishes for a happy new year. The philatelic new issue world gets stranger every year that passes - some countries issuing as much as they can possibly get away with & some effectively having given up on stamp issues altogether. Even previously greedy philatelic agencies seem to have reduced output which must be a great relief for us all though they are still there perfectly able to launch a fresh onslaught whenever they think a good profit is likely. Stamperija carries on turning out more rubbish than ever, is there really anyone who buys their trash? Once more, best wishes for a happy 2026.
