It is very disappointing that Great Britain, as one of the first country to sign the Treaty of Bern in 1874, has not issued any stamps to commemorate this anniversary. The Commonwealth omnibus in 1949 (75th Anniversary of UPU) was one of the largest stamp issues. Royal Mail has chosen to commemorate pop music groups and they should be ashamed.
ReplyDeleteWK replying - To be honest, I think the UPU design is pretty awful and I can understand postal administrations including RM not wanting to use it but it is a very important postal anniversary so a set featuring events in British postal history or perhaps postal uniforms or modern postal service technology & other developments might have been good.
