2 April 2024 - The subject of official covers is not a subject I report too frequently in this Blog but I am interested to see that Canada Post has issued this item commemorating the Centenary of the Royal Canadian Air Force rather than issue a postage stamp to mark the notable anniversary. I can not recall special covers rather than postage stamps having been issued by Canada Post as a means of commemorating important events and anniversaries but perhaps my memory fails me. Regardless, there may be all sorts of reasons why Canada Post has produced this item rather than a postage stamp but it is interesting nonetheless. The stamp cancelled on the cover comes from the 2019 Aviators set. Perhaps the issuing of commemorative covers is to be a new trend with this particular postal administration.
I think the stamps on these sort of Canadian covers are printed and not an actual stamp.
