2024 - 85th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz (American movie) - Stamp pack containing 2 panes, one with 9 different My Stamps and the other containing what is described as a “giant look-a-like stamp” (whatever that means) which takes up the whole pane. The cost for the pack is $16.50. Rating:- 0.
2024 - 65th anniversary of Sleeping Beauty (Walt Disney feature length cartoon movie) - Stamp pack containing 2 panes, 1 pane being made up of 9 different $1.50 self-adhesive My Stamps and the other made up of 5 gummed Tulip Greetings stamps with attached labels and the pack sold for $24. Who actually buys all this trash?
I live in Australia. Started stamp collecting as a kid. For many years tried to obtain most of our stamp issues. As the frequency and number of stamps per issue increased, I gave up spending on most. Now I only collect my own countries stamps if the subject matter is of interest. Sad how our wonderful hobby has gone down hill.
ReplyDeleteWK replying - Yes, these greedy postal administrations, including Royal Mail as well, have ruined new issue collecting by the vast amount of money they try to extract from collectors & I imagine most of us now collect in the same way you yourself do. Such a pity, isn’t it?
