1188. 🇳🇿 New Zealand Post's Final First World War Issue.

🇳🇿 New Zealand Post will issue the final part of its 5 year-long series of stamps which have been commemorating the role played by the people of New Zealand in the First World War.
The items in this new set, to be released on 4 April 2018, are similar to those of the sets of the previous years. The theme of the 2018 issue is '1918 Back From The Brink' and it is made up of a sheetlet of 10 different stamps (6 x $1, 2 x $2.20c and 2 x $2.70c), a se-tenant block of 6 x $1 and 2 se-tenant pairs of the higher values, 2 miniature sheets (1 containing 6 x $1 and the other containing the 4 higher values) and a $39.90c 'miniature sheet' booklet. The issue was designed by Strategy Creative of Wellington and lithographed by Southern Colour Print and perforated 14.5. An excellent and important issue. Rating:- *****.

🇧🇹 Bhutan Post issued a sheetlet of 6 different stamps and a single stamp miniature sheet on the subject of Dragonflies of Bhutan on 5 February 2018. This is another interesting and attractive set which contributes to the excellent series of issues which this small country's postal service has been releasing in recent years which give the collector a picture of what Bhutan is like. Rating:- ****.

🇬🇧 Royal Mail will release a set of 6 stamps on 17 April 2018 on the subject of Reintroduced species. The stamps are issued in se-tenant pairs and feature the Osprey and Large Blue butterfly (1st), Eurasian beaver and Pool frog (£1.40) and Stinking Hawk's Beard and Sand lizard (£1.57). This is an attractive, interesting and worthwhile set unencumbered by numerous booklets, miniature sheets and other paraphernalia. Rating:- ****.

🇭🇰 Hong Kong Post issued a set of 6 stamps and 1 miniature sheet on the subject of 'Festive customs' on 27 February 2018. The issue was designed by Cheng Kar-wai and lithographed with hot foil stamping by Cartor and perforated 13.5 x 14. Rather impenetrable designs. Rating:- **.

🇮🇳 India Post issued a single stamp on 5 March 2018 to commemorate the late Bijayananda Patnaik, popularly known as Biju Patnaik, who was the 3rd Chief Minister of Odisha from 1961 to 1963 and 1990 to 1995. It's another one of those unimaginative India Post designs I'm afraid. Rating:- **.

🇲🇾 Pos Malaysia issued a set of 3 stamps and 1 miniature sheet on 3 March 2018 to commemorate the Centenary of the founding of Yu Hua School Kajang in Kajang in Selangor. Not, perhaps, the most exciting of sets but reasonably priced and obviously locally meaningful. Rating:- ***.

🇬🇮 The Royal Gibraltar Post Office will issue, predictably, a single-stamp miniature sheet (face value of £3) on 10 March 2018 to commemorate the engagement of Prince Henry of Wales, known as Prince Harry, to Meghan Markle. Ho hum. Rating:- *.
