Then multiply by 10, add a mini-sheet for each issue. Then take the postal administrations from the various British islands and territories and multiply them all by 6 or by 8, apart from other countries around the world that want, for one reason or another, to please Great Britain. Then you have the number of times the faces of Queen Elizabeth and her descendants appear on the postage stamp annually. Hence, I conclude that among the numerous exaggerations of the Commonwealth postal administrations is the duality of an excessive look at their own kingdom, on the one hand, and the excessive use of popular themes whose call is more effective than the really deep themes.

And suffer those who have the British royal family as the theme of their collections! In my case I collect "Illustrations on Literature", especially for children, "Fairy tales, legends and myths from different countries" and "comics".

About the latter, the comics, I must say that there are several narative lines, only one of them (and the worst) being that of superheroes, generally American, based on adventure and themes without the human depth necessary for a good work of fiction, with some exceptions of course.

Other lines of comics, from the most varied countries, deal with truly human themes, conflicts of daily life and themes so deep that they often have nothing to do with good literature, and tend to be perennial.

I'm 64 years old and I love good literature in all its forms. I don't think there is an age to appreciate good comics as well as good literary works and poetry.Luiz Walter Furtadohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10386184412675742633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2005756131065514338.post-47942620322565273882021-09-06T15:55:36.075+00:002021-09-06T15:55:36.075+00:00Hello petemk, Thank you for your kind remarks. Of ...Hello petemk, Thank you for your kind remarks. Of course, as you know I’m sure, Norvic Stamps Blog is the best source of information about GB modern stamps but I feel I have to include Royal Mail issues in this Blog as I do try to cover the whole Commonwealth. It is interesting to see how fashions come and go as regards new issues and if I find out information about something I might or might not choose to collect then I feel I might as well share it with anyone who’s interested. There are a lot of ‘clever’ people, many very well paid I suspect, involved in deciding what will be inflicted on we collectors and so I feel we at least have the right to express our opinions about what they are doing to our hobby.White Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968199477827266643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2005756131065514338.post-32103886693185496142021-09-06T14:49:31.237+00:002021-09-06T14:49:31.237+00:00I enjoy reading your blog, it is amusing but hits ...I enjoy reading your blog, it is amusing but hits the nail on the head regarding Royal Mail issues. The main thing I like is that you seem to publish photos of forthcoming RM issues well before anyone else, cocking a snook at the stupid RM embargo dates, well done thank you.petemkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04444483566044974093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2005756131065514338.post-35599384882512212882021-09-06T05:44:29.279+00:002021-09-06T05:44:29.279+00:00Thanks PC, imagine the fuss if a postal authority ...Thanks PC, imagine the fuss if a postal authority somewhere actually celebrated British imperialism! How the world has changed since 1922 (and yet not - then the world had recently seen an Afghan War and was getting over a pandemic). I agree we should expect an issue from Egypt to commemorate the centenary of the end of the protectorate, a NZ Matariki issue (that has already become an annual subject) but anything vaguely political to do with Northern Ireland seems unlikely. I agree with your opinion about the way Canada Post ‘does’ new issues.White Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968199477827266643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2005756131065514338.post-56345401960444330012021-09-06T02:55:49.909+00:002021-09-06T02:55:49.909+00:00Sad to say the list could be anything! 2022 is the...Sad to say the list could be anything! 2022 is the 25th Anniv. of the handover of HK to China so there'll be a few stamps from HK and China and probably one or two random Commonwealth countries.

Other events perhaps (but not from RM)
- January 1922 was the height of the British Empire, I'd love that to be a theme! lol
- Egypt, 100 years of independence from Britain, feb.
- NZ, Matariki is a public holiday for the first time so there'll be stamps on that
- 100 years of the RUC in NI?
- We've had Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel and DC. What's it going to be this year?

It'd be nice if they started doing single stamp issues like Canada. I'd be happy with more issues if they did that. A film about dinosaurs is an excellent suggestion to provide very sellable products. Environment? - I’m not too sure, it’s sounds a little serious when compared with most of the trivia Royal Mail seems to think appeals to its potential customers White Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968199477827266643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2005756131065514338.post-44109392312897183462021-09-05T17:11:50.919+00:002021-09-05T17:11:50.919+00:00Some more suggestions: 2022 sees the Centenary of ...Some more suggestions: 2022 sees the Centenary of the Discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamun and France already announced a set about that. Also there will be the 50th anniversaries of Limits to Growth and the 1972 Stockholm Conference, so maybe there will be a set about Environmentalism. Looking at big film releases, there might be a set about Jurassic World, which I think was partly filmed in the UK. dustin15https://www.blogger.com/profile/12015554128978899257noreply@blogger.com
